Philippine Airlines has promo cheap fares 888 pesos Manila to Cebu

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Philippine Airlines is not as media savy as Cebu Pacific as Cebu Pacific puts out emails on their promos, puts their promos on their websites so its easy for customers to find and also for blogs to promote easily. which PAL isn't doing.  Regardless I have scanned PAL's latest promo and also their sub carrier Philippine Express has the same basic promo.  Note Philippine Airlines has more benefits for the customers like newspapers on board, free snacks on board, and 20 kilos baggage and more legroom in contrast to Cebu Pacific.  So this 888 peso offer is a good deal and it can booked up until October 23 for travel November 4 to December 10

Finally there is a article online about the promo that PAL is offering, very slow press release I would say but they need to also get the printed material into the website too.

MANILA, Philippines - A new low-fare promo — dubbed “More for Less” — is currently available on 28 domestic destinations of Philippine Airlines and PAL Express, with the free baggage allowance increased to 20 kilos.

One-way, all-in fares as low as P888 are available on flights from Manila to Legazpi, Cebu or Roxas on PAL, and from Manila to San Jose or Busuanga, and Cebu to Bacolod or Iloilo on PAL Express.
Other PAL reduced fares are at P1,188 and P2,208 on 20 different domestic routes.
P1,188 fares are for Manila to/from Laoag, Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Kalibo, Tacloban, Tagbilaran and between Cebu and Davao.

P2,208 fares are between Manila and Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz and Zamboanga

Meanwhile, PAL Express low-fares are pegged at P1,188 and P1,398. The P1,188 fares are for flights to/from Manila and Tuguegarao, Virac, Naga, Calbayog and Catarman and between Cebu and Kalibo, Butuan, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Ozamiz and Tacloban.

P1,398 PAL Express fares are between Cebu and Zamboanga; and Davao and Zamboanga.
Fares are for one-way, Economy class, inclusive of VAT. Tickets should be bought between Oct. 16 to 23, 2009. Travel period must be between Nov. 4 to Dec. 10, 2009. Tickets are non-refundable but upgradeable to a higher fare. These are however not eligible to earn miles under the Mabuhay Miles frequent flyer program.

The promo includes 20 kilos of free baggage allowance (regular domestic baggage allowance = 15 kilos), applicable both on PAL and PAL Express flights.

Tickets are available online – PAL (philippineairlines.com) and PAL Express (palexpressair.com) websites; any PAL ticket office or accredited travel agents.  . PAL now accepts BancNet ATM cards as mode of payment, aside from Mastercard and Visa.  Read the complete original article here http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=515703&publicationSubCategoryId=66

Philippine Airlines

Philippine Airlines, Inc. (abbreviated PAL), also known historically as Philippine Air Lines, is the national airline of the Philippines.

The airline, headquartered in the Philippine National Bank Financial Center in Pasay City, was founded in 1941 and is the oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. Out of its hubs at Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu City, Philippine Airlines serves nineteen destinations in the Philippines and twenty-four destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Australia, Canada and the United States.

Formerly one of the largest Asian airlines, PAL was severely affected by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. In what was believed to be one of the Philippines' biggest corporate failures, PAL was forced to downsize its international operations by completely cutting operations to Europe and eventually Southwest Asia, cutting virtually all domestic services excluding routes operated from Manila, reducing the size of its fleet and terminating the jobs of thousands of employees. The airline was placed under receivership in 1998, gradually restoring operations to many of the destinations it formerly serviced. PAL exited receivership in 2007 with ambitious plans to further restore services to its previously-serviced destinations, as well as diversify its fleet.

Philippine Airlines is the only airline in the Philippines to be accredited with the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) by the International Air Transport Association and has been awarded a 3-star rating by Skytrax.
